Upper Merion 52nd Annual Regatta
May 14th, 2017
On a chilly and wet Mother's Day at the 52nd Upper Merion Regatta, the RFH Rowing crews delivered another impressive performance. The Varsity Men's 4+ and Quad rowed to third place finishes and the Men's Novice JV4+ won another Gold Medal. The Men's Freshman also delivered an impressive third place finish.
On the Women's sthe Varsity 4+ women did not compete due to sickness and an injury, the Women's JV4+ finished fourth overall and the Women's Novice 8 took the Gold Medal in their second straight regatta.
Head Coach Dan Edwards complimented the crews and the mothers, but not necessarily in that order. "We first want to say thank you to all the mother's in the RFH Rowing program. We know that rowing on Mother's Day is less than perfect but the program and the athletes appreciate your support and wish you all a very happy Mother's Day."
Edwards went on to compliment the crews. "All our crews rowed well, but the Men's Junior Varsity with Coxswain and the Women's Novice Eight really deserve a great deal of credit. We are a small program and for them to win Gold Medals at this regatta as well as the Long Island Junior Rowing Championships, well, it is impressive.
Overall Results:
MV4+: 3rd overall
MV4x: 3rd overall
WJV4+: 4th overall
MJV4+: 1st overall
BN8+: 3rd overall
WN8+: 1st overall
Congratulations to all crews!
